Mesotherapy is a treatment for various skin problems. Procedure involves injecting small doses of active substances such as vitamins, collagen or moisturising agents directly into the skin. Mesotherapy allows reversal or hindering of many unfavourable changes.
Extended exposure to harmful environmental influences, stress, smoking of tobacco, alcohol and sun radiation results in unfavourable changes in the skin. Mesotherapy allows reversal or slowing down of many unfavourable changes throughout:
- Skin cell metabolism improvement;
- Stimulating of fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin;
- Creation of new blood vessels;
- Micro-circulation improvement;
- Stimulating of skin regeneration – (replacement with new cells);
- Hindered creation of harmful free radicals;
- Skin nutrition improvement.
All these aspects highlight the advantage of injection based mesotherapy over so-called needleless mesotherapy.
Usually, mesotherapy products are based on a mixture of vitamins, amino acids, organic silica, microelements, hyaluronic acid and vegetable extracts.
Injections are made using a syringe with a very thin needle. After the treatment, there remain small marks on the skin in the form of spots or a grid – depending on the technique of the treatment. The marks disappear within a time dependent on the administered medicine – from 6 to 72 hours.
The injections are not painful. In addition, anaesthetic cream may be applied to reduce discomfort. Occasionally, the needle may puncture a blood vessel, and a small bruise may develop.
Massage is performed after the treatment, which allows even absorption of the injected products into the skin. The injected substances remain active for a month after the treatment.
